Sarah began drawing and painting waterfowl and other wildlife at a young age. She entered her first Federal Junior Duck Stamp competition in 2005 and has consistently placed well among her peers over the past ten years. Among Sarah’s most recent accomplishments in duck stamp art is her tie for the 2012 “Best of Show” in the State of Ohio, which was with Christine's national winning pintail painting along with a second place in the state the following year. This year she won Best of Show in the state of Ohio. She has also won state and national awards in the State-Fish Art contest including Wildlife Forever's 2012-2013 Art of Conservation Stamp Award. She is looking forward to a promising future in the realm of wildlife art.

In 2012 at the State-Fish Art Expo held in Little Rock, Arkansas where the Claytons were in attendance, Sarah's painting of the longear sunfish "Keep on the Sunny Side" won the Art of Conservation Stamp Award. This special award recognizes a single young artist's work as gallery quality and shares it with the world as a conservation stamp. The collectible stamps are available in all the formats collectors prefer: singles, sheets, blocks, and first day of issue pictorial cachets. At just $5 per stamp this is a fun and inexpensive way to support kids and conservation.
